The Hawk Moth

I spotted some hummingbirds sucking the nectar from some yellow flowers. It was right before dusk. They had longy long long tongues. They weren't hummingbirds. They were hawkmoths.

  1. Wow! That must be a BIG moth if it looks like a hummingbird!

  2. I have seen a Hawk moth before once or twice in Cedar Rapids in our yard acting like a hummingbird, and once here on the flowers in the alcove. Have you seen any new hummingbirds?
