We are at Camaronal. We were doing our job of helping with the turtles. Instead of getting the eggs of some, we saw her lay the eggs. They look like golf balls. And we saw one of the eggs today. It was an Olive Ridley turtle.
PS Does anyone know why the picture looks red?
Sam--We hadn't checked your blog because we didn't think you would be able to post anything until Monday. But tonight I just clicked on it--and there you were! That is one big turtle! I don't know why the photo is red but I can tell it's you there behind the turtle. You actually saw the turtle lay the eggs--Wow! We can't wait to hear more. Nana

ReplyDeleteIs the picture red because you took it at night without a flash? I imagine that a flash would scare the turtle, and you don't want to do that!

Is the picture red because the photographer is angry?
ReplyDeleteIt's because we had to put red on the flash, because the sea turtles don't like the bright, white light. It confuses them and makes them go the wrong way.
